On Wednesday Islington Conservative Association was pleased to host an event with the Rt Hon Oliver Letwin organised by Amy Gray, Conservative Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Hackney North, and the Hackney Conservative Association.
Mr Letwin himself was a Conservative candidate in Hackney in 1987; he also shared with members the extraordinary challenges our country was facing in 2010 leading to the formation of the Coalition Government, and our achievements in office.
Of particular note to Islington residents has been the Government's National Planning Policy Framework which has considerably reduced the red tape involved in building new homes. Sadly, Labour-run Islington Council continues to believe that the answer to shortage is more regulation, rather than increased supply.
